Speedy Cheetah

My second daughter just turned 10 years old! Double digits! I can't believe it! She is truly an amazing little girl! From the beginning we could tell how smart she was going to be. She would just study everything and hardly made any sounds, just was taking it all in. She was also very fast and still kind of is too! That is how she got the name Speedy Cheetah or Speed for short. She loves the outdoors like her dad, but then she loves to curl up with a good book to like her mom. She currently goes to a gifted magnet school, loves to write, read and sing. She plays the violin too! Having a new sister has been a big adjustment for her and we are constantly working on it. For 9 1/2 years she has been my baby and I tell her that it doesn't matter how old you are... you are always your mother's baby! She doesn't believe me. She also doesn't believe that a mother has enough room in her heart to love all her children with all her heart. I tell her she will understand when she is a mother someday. She cracks me up because she already has her future kid names picked out...Serendipity, Gypsy and Pixie. I think she is having 3 girls too! Love you my Speedy Cheetah girl!

Nicknames and Weegie

My father in law had nicknames for all of his children. There was Chula, My DH's name-Boy, Little Girl, The Kid, Princess, Gyro and my mother in law was the Big Ame. My husband has continued the same tradition and our daughters are Weegie, Speedy Cheetah and the Squigler. He nicknamed our newest daughter the first month of her life. It's really cute because he always calls them these names. I have one too! It's Wifa! So I think in posting I will refer to these names too!

This is Weegie! She just turned 13 and yesterday she had a boy walk her to the car, carrying her books! It was really cute and I could tell she liked it. Not sure if she liked him, but she liked the fact that this boy wanted to carry her books. He seems like a nice boy and hopefully she continues on the path of nice guys! Weegie loves to read and write. She keeps a journal that she shares with her bff. She also loves to shop and watch Gossip Girl. She plays the violin and softball. Her favorite teams are U of A and Arizona State. She currently is looking at straight A's on her report card and I think she can do it!!

Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day and we celebrated on Saturday with my husband's family. My husband's father was a World War 2 vet and sadly he passed away 6 years ago. We make sure we visit my inlaw's graves every Veteran and Memorial day. This year we took our baby for the first time. A year ago this weekend we told my husband's family that we were expecting again! Quiet the shock considering our children are 13 and 10, but like I said before she couldn't be a better blessing! Here a couple of pixs from this weekend! We had a great time seeing our loved ones! Thank you to all those that have served in honoring and protecting this great country we live in!

My First Post!

I love to read blogs from other moms and have always wanted to start one. Today is the day!! I think this will be a great way to remember my girls milestones! I am the mother to a 13 year old, a 10 year old and a 5 month old! I know... big age gap, but it was meant to be! Please bear with me while I learn how to work this blog and thank you for reading!
