What Makes Me Happy!

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner had a post today that asked "What Makes You Happy?/What Do You Love?" Well first and foremost I love these 3 right here!! They make me the happiest that I thought I could ever be!! I love being a mom and especially a mom to them! They are such a special gift to me and they make me happier then you can ever imagine!
I love my friends and they make me happy too! This is a picture of me with my bff! We have been friends since we were 8 years old!! We met in 3rd grade and when I first met her I didn't like her! Hahaha! We have been through so much and when we get together we have so much fun over the silliest things!
I also have some other amazing friends too! My once a month girlfriends!! They know who they are!! And my right hand at work! (You know who you are too!) These women are so amazing and it makes me happy just thinking about them in my life! My right hand is leaving me next year to go to 2nd grade and I know work will not be the same! I am going to be so lonely next year, but I know she needs the change. I am happy for her, but I will miss her so much!
My job makes me happy! I am a school teacher and everyday is a new day! I love my class even though they drive me crazy! I only have 14 more days with them and that makes me sad, but happy to know that I have prepared them well to move on! Teaching is the best job!!!!

My family, (my cousins, my aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Godchilden, comadres, compadres and everyone else in between) makes me happy! I have such an amazing family!! I love them all so much and even though we have grown and now have our own families when we get together I am so happy! I love to throw big parties because then I have a chance to see them all!

My wonderful hubby makes me happy and I love him so much! I am so thankful that we met 16 years ago at a party that neither of us had planned to attend. Good thing we did! Here we are 16 years later with 3 kids and a dog. He is the perfect man for me!
My doggy! I love my doggy and he makes me happy. He thinks he is a person! I love to see when he and Squiggler fight over something. It is so funny! He was my baby until she came along and he still is, but he has to share the attention.
My new car makes me happy! It runs so smoothly and fits our family perfectly!! Every time I see it I get happy because I know it's ours and the way it came to be is an act of God. How we ended up with a car from New Mexico in our price range with low mileage is a miracle that only HE could have helped us with!

Shoes make me happy and I love to wear heels!! I haven't bought myself a new pair in a while, but I still love them! Also purple is my favorite color and everytime I see it, it brings a smile to my face. It was also my daddy's favorite color and it makes me think of him too!

I love SATC and enjoy watching it each and every time it is on! I have the movie and the entire series and I got to see the sequel today! These gals make me happy and suspend reality for me a little when I get the chance to see it!! I am also a big Friends fan! I love that series too and catch old episodes each time I see them on the tv. I don't own the series, but I wish I did. Someday I will!

LOL! I love diet coke and frappucinos from Starbucks too! I don't really drink alcohol or coffe, but oh yeah I need my diet coke once a day! My frappucinos are about 2x a week if I'm lucky. It's funny though because everyone at my Starbucks knows me by name and my drink order too. You would think I went there everyday, but I don't. I have been going for the last 4 or 5 years though.
Other things that make me happy:
  • stargazer lilies
  • the sun
  • dancing
  • giving compliments
  • unexpected good texts from friends
  • reading
  • getting a pedicure

And the other thing that makes me so happy that I love is my church. I don't have picture of it or the people that I go to church with, but I have been going to the same church for the last 20 years. God is a big part of my life and I pray a rosary daily. I go to church every Sunday and serve as an Eucharist minister and CCD teacher. I try to help in ways that I can and to be a good example. I am far from perfect, but I know that God loves me! I have so much to learn still and I often don't feel worthy of all the love that God has shown me, but I also know that one of the most wonderful things about His love is that it is unconditional. He might not like the choices that we make, but He ALWAYS loves us. For this I am so grateful!!

LOL! Oh yeah I almost forgot that I love music and dancing and couldn't figure out how to put this video of my favorite dance song right now. My girls love it too and we sing really loud in the car each time we hear this song!

Happy 1st Blogiversary to Me!

One year ago today I started a blog! I'm really glad that I did. I don't post everyday like most of my favorite bloggers do, but I manage to post a couple of times a month and maybe in the future I will do more. I made my girls pose for a picture because last year they were my first image. Wow! What a difference a year makes! Now my girls are 14, 11 and 1. Weegie will be graduating soon from Middle school and Speedy Cheetah from Elementary. The Squiggler can walk, run and talks up a storm!
Now normally on blogiversaries people will do a give-away, but only my wonderful and talented sister in law reads my blog. I do have two followers though! (One I know and the other I don't. "Hi!")
Today was just a beautiful day! We went to church and then to the Legion for a menudo breakfast. We came home and took naps then went to the store as a family. We had a yummy dinner of talapia and shrimp with grilled vegetables and rice! Delicioso! Now we are getting ready to get the girls ready for bed and start the week. It will be a short week for us and we get a 4 day weekend!!! I can't wait!! Love to the one of you who read this and thanks!! You make me smile! Oh and if there is anyone else out there that reads this then please leave me a comment.

Let's Go Dodgers!

My hubby and I had a date tonight! We went to a Dodger game! Just the two of us! I have always loved the Dodgers and so has my hubby. He use to go to a lot of games pre-children, but then he stopped going and last year he went to a couple and this year he invited me. I had so much fun and it brought back soooo many memories! My family always went to Opening Day with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It was a family affair! I even bought myself a new Dodger shirt just to wear to the game!
Our seats were in the Top Deck and we had great seats. We were able to see all the action and there was a lot of it! The Dodger pitcher beaned a Detroit player in the head. It wasn't pretty, but thankfully the guy seemed okay. There was 2 homeruns hit and my beloved Dodgers won!! Yay! Hubby is going to take me to one more game this season I think! I might get a Manny Ramirez jersey? I'm not sure yet? Oh and the Dodger dogs were just delicious!!
Look a whole post without a mention of kids! LOL!

First Holy Communion

Today was my beautiful niece's First Holy Communion! We weren't able to make the ceremony because I had to work, but we were able to join in the festivities afterwards. This is a picture that my brother in law sent to my phone. She looks so pretty! A really cool thing is that she is wearing my sister in law's dress and crown from when she made her First Communion many moons ago!
This is a picture of my brother in law and his little girl! He is my husband's youngest brother and the tallest in the family. The party was really nice! They had lots of good food and yummy cakes! It was the first time we had got to see my sister in law's new house and it is really nice. I think it is just perfect for them! They also have the cutest little dog named Patches! I didn't really take my camera out today. I think I was too tired from working this morning. I am working with the lowest of our Kindergarteners in our school and even though they are sweet kids, they really require a lot of work!

My fabulous sister in law also took this family picture of us before we left. I had wanted to get a family pix taken on Mother's Day , but didn't get too because Speedy Cheetah wasn't in town. I am so glad that we are all looking at the camera! In the past month, Speedy Cheetah has gone camping with Girl Scouts, had a birthday, went to San Francisco with the girl scouts and now this week she is going on a overnight trip with her school. The whole fifth grade class is going to spend the night at Riley's farm, which is like a Colonial reenactment place. She is very excited, but all this has happend in the last 4 weeks. My hubby said we shouldn't have let her go on so many activities, but I think they are very special and I'm glad she is able to have all these experiences. I had never been anywhere until I met my husband!! (And I've still never have been to Vegas!)

This was Squiggler with her new boyfriend, Gabriel. (He is the nephew of my sister in law.) He seemed very smitten with Squiggler and she liked him too, but when he got a little too close to kiss her, she whacked him. I think he will think again before he tries to make a move like that! (Hee Hee Hee) Our little Squiggler really seems to like boys and she is always making a new friend wherever she goes! At the park some little boy got his dad to buy her an ice cream cone! My husband was with her and brought her home and told her...tell momma what happend. She is so funny because she will talk to you like she is carrying on a conversation. She talks soooo much, but today she was kind of shy around all the new people. Today was the first day we put her hair in piggytails. I think she looks so cute! It was a good thing too because it was a rather warm day! I love the sun!! It was a really nice day being surrounded with family! I wish we could do it more often.

Happy Birthday Weegie!

Today is my oldest daughter's birthday! The one we call Weegie Woo! She is 14 today and my husband and I are wondering where the time went? It's just like yesterday when we welcomed her into this world! Both of us so scared because we had no idea what to do with this little baby?! I remember my husband turning to me and saying that I was going to have to be the disciplinarian because there was no way that he could ever be mad at her. (He is still kind of like that too!) She wanted to spend her day at the Grove in downtown LA. She was allowed to take one friend and we gave her money so she could go shopping and then we went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory! It was sooo yummy!
Today also happens to be Mother's Day, but it wasn't about me, it was all about her. She even walked around with at tiara on her head all day! She is so my daughter sometimes!!! She loves to talk on the phone, or text, she loves to shop. She loves chick flicks and tv shows. For the most part we like the same kind of music and have a lot in common. I like to think that we are close and that there is nothing that she can't come tell me. I do know that there are some things that you just can't tell your mother, but when it comes to boys, she tells me a lot! She even lets me read texts and emails from the boy she likes. She is going into high school next year and I can't believe it. I remember her first day of pre school like it was yesterday and how she cried and wouldn't let me out of her sight!

She is my first born and what my husband and I refer to as our guniea pig. We had no clue as to what we were doing when she came along, but I think she is turning out pretty good. She is smart, friendly, sometimes a little shy in new situations, and very pretty! A lot of people say that she looks like me, but I think she looks like my husband! She definately has his eyes! She loves to play softball and has a lot of friends! She gets straight A's and plays the violin. She sometimes gets caught up in too much girl drama with her friends, but don't all girls in some ways?
I want to tell my Cinderella Princess (when she was little she wanted "shiny" hair) how much I love her and that I just want her to be happy more then anything! I am very proud of the young lady she is becoming. I want her to always remember that if you do the right thing then everything will be fine. Always treat others with kindness and respect and remember that God is always there with her. I want her to know that how special she is and amazed at her abilities we are. She has had some of the finest teachers and she is so much more organized then I will ever be!! Don't lose that skill because it will take you far! I love that she is always happy and want to remind her that her happiness is up to her, not your friends or boys, but that she makes the choice every day to be happy! Weegie you have no idea how much we love you!! I am so proud to be your mommy and I am so glad that God picked me! I am so blessed to have a daughter like you! With all my love, Mommy!

My wonderful husband took me out on Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day and bought me a pretty dress! We went to church in the morning and then home for a small photo shoot. We didn't really get any good shots and that was okay because Speedy Cheetah was in San Franscisco with her Girl Scout troop. We will hopefully get some good shots this weekend at my sister in laws!

I had a very good Mother's day and the best gift that I could EVER get, I already have!!! My 3 beautiful girls!! They make me want to be a better person! I love being their mother and hope that when they think of their childhood that they only have good memories! I hope they remember how we would make pancakes together or cuddle up and watch movies together. I hope that when they are older they want to hang out and we can leave daddy with the grandchildren (Hee Hee Hee) while we go out to lunch and then shopping. I love you my babies!

Squiggler is 17 Months!

Oh my how time is flying! The Squiggler is 17 months today and I can't believe it! I decided to take the day off today to spend with her and have her picture taken. Well she didn't want to have her picture taken and so we had to leave and come back. Even after giving her a little sugar she still didn't want to take her picture, so I had to sit on the couch next to her and they were able to get a couple that way. I'm hoping next month she does okay because I had planned to have her picture taken until she was 18 months, but we will see? I had her hair in two little pigtails, but she didn't like it so I had to take them out. I will try to get a picture of her like that soon.

This last month was a hard one for my little Squiggler and the rest of the family. She got really sick at the beginning of the month and then proceeded to get her grandma and sisters sick. Then I got a real bad cough and cold and so did she and now that has spread to her daddy and sisters. And last, but not least she has broken out in hives two times this month and now she has a rash all over her little body and we don't know what is causing it!! My poor little baby!! Oh yeah and I forgot that also this past month she hurt her leg and couldn't walk for 2 days! Say a prayer for my little darling and that she stays healthy from now on and that the rash goes away.

This month she has really grown and has learned so many things. Her vocabulary is amazing and my husband and I could have sworn she said, "Oh my goodness!" the other day. We took her to Urgent care the other day and found out that she weighs 20 lbs. and 6 ozs. She's long and lean like Weegie.
The Squiggler:
  • You run all over the place now and look so cute doing it because you twist your hips
  • You love Sid the Science Kid in spanish and Elmo from Sesame Street.
  • You say so many words and repeat everything! You say dog, Bozo (your dad taught you that one), boy, ball, cracker, down, go , milk, sisters, purse, boots, shoes and so many more that I can't think of right now.
  • You understand so much and I can give you directions and you follow them. (Like go give this to Sissy and you do it.)
  • You and the dog fight over me. It's really funny! If you are on my lap he tries to nudge you off and if he is on my lap you get really mad and say Dog! and wave your arms around.
  • Your favorite toy is your play kitchen, play food, and shopping cart. You are such the little mommy.
  • You love to sit on boxes. We need to buy you a chair.
  • You are still be nursed and eat from the time I get home until bedtime. (You usually wake up once at night.)
  • You love babies and say Awwww when you see one.
  • You are very social and say hi to people at the store. You are shy for about 5-10 minutes and then that's it. You are not shy after that!
  • You are learning to feed yourself with a spoon and drink from a straw or sippy cup.
  • You love to be outside and be pushed in your toy car or push your toy car.
  • When you want to do something you come and get my hand and say Go.
  • You are very attached to me right now and I can't get enough of you!!!!
  • You are a little bit of a bully and you are not afraid to move bigger kids out of your way!
  • At dinner when we pray, you hold hands now too and bow your head! You are so sweet!
  • You are so smart and know some of your colors already. You love to read your books and point to the right pictures when we ask you questions.

Squiggler we love you so much and thank the Lord for you everyday! You bring so much to our home and we know how Blessed we are to have you in our lives! You make us laugh and you love your sisters so much! Speedy Cheetah is so good with you and always wants to practice taking care of you for her babysitting business. You love Weegie too and want to be just like her. You like to sit at the mirror when she is putting her make up on and getting ready for school. I hope you always know how loved you are!!

Happy Birthday Speedy Cheetah!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter, Speedy Cheetah. Today is her 11th birthday and she wanted to celebrate it by going to the Ronald Reagan Presidential library. We left her older sister at home baking the cake and lots of cupcakes for Speedy to take to school tomorrow. We roamed around for about 2 hours and then headed over to Soupplantation her favorite place to eat. We came home and celebrated with cake and ice cream. The only thing on her birthday wish list was books. This girl loves to read!!!
We had a really nice time and all day I kept reminding her that she wasn't born until 7:07 pm. Finally at that time she shouted, "Hey I'm 11 now!" LOL! She is so funny and my most original child. She dances to the beat of her own drummer and she is so creative!!! She remembers extraordinary things and is so amazing to us!! I always tease her and tell her, "Are you sure you are my child?" I know there was no baby mixups because I was actually able to see her be born and she never not once left my sight at the hospital. She was such a quiet baby and was just taking it all in. She use to love to stare at herself in the mirror of our bathroom for long periods of time. She didn't just say words when she started talking she said a sentence! She was my quickest baby arriving in only 37 minutes after I got to the hospital. The nurse told me that is the way they like them!

Speedy Cheetah is a such a go getter and so smart! She loves to sing and is so helpful and good with her baby sister. She has the kindest heart and is always thinking about others! I love her so much and I hope she knows how amazing she is!!! In the above picture she is with her favorite doll, Rosie, who is in dire need of repair, but she won't let anyone touch Rosie.

I love this picture with her little sister! Speedy is also a Girl Scout and leaves this weekend to go with her troop and cross the Golden Gate Bridge for a special bridging ceremony. She is the only girl going without a family member. This makes me feel really guilty, but Squiggler is still nursing and so there is no way I can be away from her for that long and taking her is out of the question. It is also my older daughter's birthday this weekend. I know there birthdays are only a week apart and I couldn't have planned that if I tried!!! We use to have one BIG party for them, but now they like to plan their special days!
To my Speedy Cheetah, I hope you know how special you are! You are both beautiful inside and out and it shines in you everyday. There is not a person that meets you that doesn't fall in love with you. You are a natural leader, but not bossy and that is such an important quality to have. You are kind and good hearted. You always think of other people first. You sing like an Angel and are so creative!!! You want to be a pediatrician and an author. You already have the names of your future daughter's picked out even though I like Pixie the best! You are so smart and receive all A's and your teacher nominated you for a very special honor this year. You are well on your way to the middle school you wanted and I know you will excel there too! You do almost everything with 100% commitment and dedication!!! I love you so much and I hope you never ever forget that!
Love, Mommy
